Technical Writer

We are a rapidly growing and innovative technology company, seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person for the role of technical writer.

Purpose of the role

As a technical writer you will be a key member of the training and resources team. The purpose of this role is to produce and maintain our wide range of high quality, cloud based self-help tools, including our learning centre, videos, online workbooks, homework scenarios and certification. You will be required to work with all team members to design and develop high quality self-help services with an aim of creating “power users” of our products. You will be a key participant in all of our training and resource communication activities, including reviewing the effectiveness of our technical documentation and associated articles.

Key roles and responsibilities

Based in the Christchurch Head Office and reporting to the Training and Resources Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining online User Guides, online Help files, and online Tutorials (including video).
  • Liaising with Product Managers on upcoming software releases and meeting documentation deadlines as set by the Training and Resources Manager.
  • Liaising with Product Managers and Developers over software usability for existing and upcoming features.
  • Providing specialist advice and assistance with the provision of content.

The successful candidate will also be involved with some online training. As a trainer you will be required to manage the learners and the learning using a variety of online tools. You will be responsible for:

  • Empowering learners.
  • Develop and conduct meaningful learning activities to meet the learning objectives.

Ideally this role would suit a candidate with:

  • Extensive experience in the creation of end user online-documentation (cloud based) for software products gained through a successful track record.
  • A relevant Degree or Technical Writing qualification.
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft products.
  • The ability to quickly learn and gain a comprehensive understanding of new software products and features.
  • Self-motivation and commitment to detail and quality.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with Product Managers, Developers, Management, Content Providers/Business Partners, and Clients.
  • An understanding of E-Learning principles.
  • Excellent communication skills especially through electronic media.
  • Critical thinker, ability to work independently, customer focused, team player.
  • A people person' – outgoing, friendly, encouraging, supportive.

The following experience would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Fluent in HTML.
  • Knowledge of Captivate.
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft products.
  • Experience working with accountants.
  • A qualification in or demonstrable, recent experience in instructional design and or course/content authoring.

Accounts Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Administrator to work within our Administration team. This role works closely with all parts of the business, especially sales, support and training.
Acclipse NZ Ltd is a high growth, internationally expanding, dynamic, innovative technology company specialising in online software for accounting firms.
Reporting to the Projects and Operations Manager, your role will include:
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • GST and BAS returns
  • Reception and phone answering
  • Handling client enquiries via phone and email
  • Maintaining accurate database records
We are looking for someone who identities with the following qualities:
  • Customer focused with an aim to exceed customer expectations
  • Attention to detail and the importance of following processes
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and systems
  • Conscientious work ethic and proven self-discipline
  • Confidence and enthusiasm
  • Sense of humour and positive attitude
Specifically we would like you to be proficient in the following areas:
  • Accounts systems, preferably QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office software
  • Computer aptitude (ie pick most things up quickly)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
The hours of work for this position are usually 8.30am to 5pm, but as the administrative and sales support for our Australian & NZ offices are mostly provided from our head office in Christchurch, we also need someone with the flexibility to cover the 10:30am to 7pm shift, if required.
